Casey Charles is a Queensland based, contemporary realist artist working with oil on canvas.

He paints landscapes, portraits, still life paintings and street scenes all in vivid, loud, bright colours.

His work is influenced by the style of Vincent van Gogh.

The paintings have a distinctive personal style that emanate joy and is inspired by the people, places and the colours from his travels. Behind each of these works there lies the feeling of an equally intriguing story.

These stories range from the laneways, cafes and bars of the inner city, to the artist circles of Montmartre in Paris and the Highlands of Vietnam. His artwork is a reflection of his meetings and experiences.

Casey Charles has exhibited recently at the Gallery of Contemporary Art & Sculpture (Melbourne), Brunswick Street Gallery (Melbourne), Petrie Terrace Gallery (Brisbane), and the Entangle Living Art Gallery (Dayboro).

The artwork of Casey Charles hangs in numerous private art collections (such as the main lobby of the Vogue on Broadbeach Luxury Apartments on the Gold Coast) and public spaces (eg the Radium Institute at the Royal Brisbane Hospital).

His work has been recognised with top awards in numerous exhibitions including the Royal Qld Art Society (3 years running), and the RNA – Royal National Association Exhibitions (on six occasions).

“To paint somebody and to embed a face in colour, if well done, is to make that person immortal. Colour is a gift and can have a power that comes from above. See what’s around you everywhere you go, for everywhere is a painting.”
